Happy Halloween!

We started our Halloween festivities Friday night by hitting up trunk or treat at my parents church.  Peyton had a blast, got to hang with her boyfriend, and is now a trick or treating pro (which will be helpful when we go out tonight).

We also did a little fall photo shoot at our house on Sunday since the weather was so beautiful.  So basically this post is all pics!  Enjoy!

Let's just start with the difference a year makes!

Here is Peyton and her boyfriend Owen in 2010...

And then this year!

And now for some more cuteness...

Noise of the Night

For those of you that haven't already seen this on Facebook, I just had to share.  Peyton made this noise for a good 30 minutes straight last night.  My friend Hannah commented that this is just one of the million reasons she loves this age, and I couldn't agree more!

Fall Weekend

Well the fall weather was back this weekend in NC and we took every opportunity we had to enjoy it.  Saturday we spent most of the morning/early afternoon outside just enjoying the weather.  Peyton ran around and I sat and tried to envision what kind of decorating I'm going to do for Christmas this year...yes I said CHRISTMAS.  I L-O-V-E Christmas, and last year I didn't get to decorate as much as I usually do.  We moved in to our house in November, add a 6 month old and there just wasn't enough time.  Anywho, we also had a nice fire Saturday night and Peyton had her first s'more!  I'm pretty sure it was a life-altering experience for her..

We also went to Target (like we do pretty much every weekend) and got a sweet hat/mitten set.  It has hit me that Peyton doesn't really have much cold weather gear.  I got her a nice coat on sale at Belks a few weeks ago, she has some hoodies, but didn't have the first hat.  Well she loved the hat...

So much so that she wanted to wear it while she ate breakfast Sunday morning...

Sunday was another relaxing day, well minus the armed robbers that hid out behind our house...but that's another post for another time.

We went to church, then Peyton had a nice 2 hour nap while I did absolutely nothing for the first time in what felt like forever.  When she woke up we headed over to the in-laws for dinner.  Peyton had her first taste of how awesome it is to jump in to a pile of leaves....and then spent about an hour doing it.

I'm already pumped about next weekend.  We have the Fest-I-Fall with trunk or treating and my little bumble bee will be absolutely adorable in her costume I'm sure!

NC State Fair

The hubby was off on Monday, so I decided to take the day off as well and head to the State Fair with Peyton!  We got there in the morning and had an absolute blast!!!  The weather was beautiful and the crowds weren't bad at all.  It made my day to see her face as we walked down the midway.  Her eyes couldn't have been any wider if she tried.  She thought it was amazing watching all the rides spin around and fly over her head.  She kept yelling "up up up".

Hands down Peyton's favorite part of the day was the animals.  She loved watching the baby piggies eat and kept snorting (her pig noise) and saying "nummy nummy....night night....nummy nummy".  Let me translate for you... "nummy nummy" refers to the fact that the piggies were eating.  "Night night", well that's pretty obvious.  She thought they were sleeping since they were laying down.  She thought the goats were doggies and kept saying "woof woof" followed by some panting.

Of course she loved the food, no surprise there.  We had a hot dog, Philly cheese steak, french fries, and cotton candy!  She ate like a champ!  She also had a blast at the Marbles Museum tent and was thrilled when Clifford the Big Red Dog walked out.  We were able to get up to him and touch him (she stroked his arm, it was adorable), but we couldn't get a picture with him.  Every time we tried, about 5 other brats kids would run up and jump in front of us.  It wasn't worth it after about 10 mins.

Peyton was KNOCKED OUT not long after we pulled out of the parking lot.  She slept the entire way home, got right in her crib and slept another 2.5 hrs!

Unfortunately we didn't take our nice camera, but I did get some good pics with the point and shoot camera.  Enjoy!

When we first got there, saying "up up"

Checking out the animals!

 Super excited about the food...

She ran in to her buddy Owen!

Wedding Festivities

This weekend we attended the wedding festivities of our friends Brandon and Erin.  You may remember the bachelorette party post not long ago.  Brandon works with my husband and has always been a wonderful friend.  Edwin was a groomsman in the wedding, so Friday night after the rehearsal we attended their rehearsal dinner.  Saturday was the wedding and it was the PERFECT day for a wedding.  They had it in Clayton and it was gorgeous.  The reception was just as beautiful and we had a blast eating, drinking, and dancing.  I wish them a lifetime of happiness, and we couldn't be happier that they included us on their special day.  Below are some pics from before the wedding and the reception...

I love how they did the seating!

Fall Fun

This past weekend was the epitome of "fall fun"!  Friday night I took Peyton to our town's Harvest Festival while Edwin was at a Bachelor party.  Saturday (after he recovered) we went back to the Harvest Festival and spent several hours.  We met up with some friends and watched the Band of Oz.  It was 2 days of fun, good music, and really really bad-for-you food!!

Look at my "little" girl!

Dancing to the beach music!

Sunday we took Peyton here...

Oh.my.goodness did we have fun!  Last year we went to Vollmer Farms, which was fun but Hill Ridge had much better hours for us and was really a better deal.  It's cheaper to get in AND you get free pumpkins!  Peyton had an absolute blast, and I'm pretty sure Edwin and I had just as much fun...if not more.  By far, her favorite was the hay jump.  I know we spent an hour in there doing this...

She also loved the hayride...

And we found the perfect (2) pumpkins...

She was so wiped after Hill Ridge, she took an almost 3 hour nap when we got home!  Here are a few more pics we took that I absolutely loved.  I also got my fall arrangement finished on my front porch.  I'll post some pics tomorrow.  We're going to do Peyton's Fall/18 month pics as soon as her Halloween costume gets here...stay tuned!
